Burgas Free University is a full-spectrum university, comprising four faculties (Faculty of Legal Studies, Faculty of Business Studies, Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, and Faculty of Humanities) that together offer more than 50 different academic programmes (Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD) in a broad range of disciplines. Founded in 1991, it is one of the first non-state universities in Bulgaria, established in the biggest industrial and cultural centre in the south-eastern region of the country.

What can you study at Burgas Free University?

Burgas Free University offers Bachelor and PhD programmes only in Bulgarian language. However, if you wish to apply for a Master study programme, you can choose Business Administration or Marketing and Digital Communications in English. 

Master in Business Administration

The Faculty of Business Studies at Burgas Free University offers Master programme in Business Administration with a focus on international business. All lectures are in English, so students are required to have advanced English language skills. Also, the Master's degree in Business Administration is only available part-time. The reason for that is to provide postgraduate students with enough free time so that they are able to find a job during their studies and finance their studies or simply gather experience in the respective field. 

The curriculum of Business Administration is quite an interesting one! The Master in Business Administration at Burgas Free University takes one year (two semesters). During the first semester students in Business Administration study the following subjects: International Business - Regional Practices, International Currency Relations, European and International Quality Standards, Service Management and Strategic Marketing in International Business. The second semester includes the subjects Innovation and Investment Management, Managerial Economics, Global Economic Issues, Management Information Systems and Business Leadership and Ethics. Each subject is 6 credits and after completing both semesters, students are required to write a graduation thesis. 

Master in Marketing and Digital Communications

The Faculty of Business Studies at Burgas Free University offers also a Master's degree in Marketing and Digital Communications in English language. Students obtain a Master of Economics within a year and may work as a manager of different marketing departments (Social Media, Digital Marketing), a brand manager, key account manager and others. The Master programme is only available part-time. 

The curriculum of the Master's degree in Marketing and Digital Communications consists of interesting subjects that deepen students' knowledge in the field of marketing. The programme is divided in two semesters. During the first semester students have the following subjects: Marketing Research and Marketing Information System, Sales Management, Strategic Marketing in International Business, Electronic Commerce, Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The second semester includes Business Games, International Marketing, Web Relationship Marketing, Management Information Systems as well as Social Media Marketing. After completing both semesters, students are required to write a Master's thesis. 

Burgas Free University - Entry requirements and tuition fees

If you wish to apply for a Master's degree at Burgas Free University, you must submit an application form, a copy of your higher education diploma (Bachelor's or Master's degree), an academic transcript, a medical certificate, a copy of your passport and passport-size pictures. Several documents must be translated and legalized. The tuition fees of Burgas Free University are 3000 Euro per academic year. This means that students must pay 1500 Euro per semester. The preparatory Bulgarian language course costs 2400 Euro per academic year.
